17:1 And he said to · his disciples, “It is inevitable that occasions for stumbling will come, but woe to the one through whom they come!
17:2 It is better for him if a millstone is hung around · his neck and he is cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
17:3 “Be on your guard! If your brother sins, · rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
17:4 And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
17:5 · The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
17:6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this sycamore, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
17:7 Which one · of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, who, when he comes in from the field, will say to him, ‘Come here at once and recline at dinner’?
17:8 Will he not, rather, say to him, ‘Prepare what I am to eat, then change clothes and wait on me while I eat and drink, and after this you may eat and drink’?
17:9 Does he express thanks to the servant because he did the things that were commanded?
17:10 So · it is with you. When you have done all that was commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have done no more than we were obliged to do.’”
17:11 · As · Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem, · he passed through the region between Samaria and Galilee.
17:12 · As he entered a certain village, ten men with leprosy met him, who normally stood at a distance.
17:13 · They raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
17:14 · When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as · they went they were made clean.
17:15 Then one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, returned, praising God in a loud voice, ·
17:16 and fell on his face at · Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks—and he was a Samaritan.
17:17 Then Jesus responded, · saying, “Were not · ten made clean? The · other nine, where are they?
17:18 Were they not found, so as to return and give praise to God, except · this foreigner?”
17:19 Then he said to the man, “Get up and go; · your faith has made you well.”
17:20 Having been asked · by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them, · saying, “The kingdom of God will not come with observation.
17:21 Nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.”
17:22 And he said to the disciples, “Days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
17:23 And they will say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or, ‘Look, here!’ Do not go out or pursue them.
17:24 For just as the lightning, when it flashes, lights up from one end of heaven to the other, so will be the Son of Man in · his day.
17:25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by · this generation.
17:26 And just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.
17:27 They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day in which Noah went into the ark and the flood came and destroyed them all.
17:28 Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;
17:29 but on the day in which Lot went out of Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
17:30 It will be just like this · on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
17:31 “On that · day the one who is on the housetop, and · his belongings are in the house, must not go down to get them, and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back. ·
17:33 Whoever tries to retain · his life for himself will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
17:34 I tell you, on that · night there will be two in one bed; · one will be taken and the other left behind.
17:35 There will be two women grinding at the mill together; · one will be taken and the other left behind.”
17:37 Then the disciples said to him in response, “Where, Lord?” And he said to them, “Where the corpse is, there also the vultures will be gathered.”
