60:1  1 David being now king over Judah, and having had many victories, showeth by evident signs that God elected him King, assuring the people that God will prosper them, if they approve the same. 14 After, he prayeth unto God to finish that that he hath begun. To him that excelleth upon Shushan Eduth, or Michtam. A Psalm of David to teach. When he fought against Aram Naharaim, and against Aram Zobah, when Joab returned and slew twelve thousand Edomites in the salt valley. O God, thou hast cast us out, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been angry, turn again unto us.
60:2  Thou hast made the land to tremble, and hast made it to gape: heal the breaches thereof, for it is shaken.
60:3  Thou hast showed thy people heavy things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of giddiness.
60:4  But now thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of thy truth. Selah.
60:5  That thy beloved may be delivered, help with thy right hand and hear me.
60:6  God hath spoken in his holiness: therefore I will rejoice: I shall divide Shechem, and measure the valley of Succoth.
60:7  Gilead shall be mine, and Manasseh shall be mine: Ephraim also shall be the strength of mine head: Judah is my lawgiver.
60:8  Moab shall be my washpot: over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia show thyself joyful for me.
60:9  Who will lead me into the strong city? who will bring me unto Edom?
60:10  Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off, and didst not go forth, O God, with our armies?
60:11  Give us help against trouble: for vain is the help of man.
60:12  Through God we shall do valiantly; for he shall tread down our enemies.
