But justice will overtake them on two counts: because in their devotion to idols they ignored God, and because in their contempt for holiness they deliberately committed perjury.
But just penalties will overtake them on two counts: because they thought wrongly about God in devoting themselves to idols, and because in deceit they swore unrighteously through contempt for holiness.
But punishment will finally catch up with them, for two reasons: first, they were in error about God when they worshiped idols, and second, they had so little regard for holiness that they made false statements to deceive people.
Therefore ever either shall come to them worthily; for they deemed evil of God, and gave attention to idols, and they swore unjustly in an idol, and they despised rightfulness. [Either than to them come worthily; for evil they feeled of God, taking heed to maumets, and swore unrightwisely in the maumet, despising rightwiseness.]
But just penalties will overtake them on two counts: because they thought wickedly of God in devoting themselves to idols, and because in deceit they swore unrighteously through contempt for holiness.

A double judgment will hunt them down—first, because they acted wickedly toward God when they gave their attention to idols; and second, because they made solemn pledges falsely out of contempt for what was holy.
But on both counts justice shall overtake them: because they thought perversely of God by devoting themselves to idols, and because they deliberately swore false oaths, despising piety.
